About Us

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Van, the founder of The Dart Project (formerly Benguet Dart Events).

I'm not a professional dart player or a large organization. I'm simply someone who found a new purpose through the sport of darts and wanted to give back to the community that welcomed me.

Where It All Began

The Dart Project was founded on September 29, 2025, but its story began much earlier.

After years of working different jobs, I reached a point where I felt burned out and uncertain about what came next. At 30 years old, I stepped away from my previous career with no clear roadmap, hoping to rebuild my life by pursuing something I genuinely enjoyed.

That journey led me back to darts.

Taking the Leap

With whatever savings I had left, I invested in two affordable cameras, a few basic tripods and stands, and the equipment needed to start documenting local tournaments. I also used part of my remaining budget for small giveaways and promotional items to help engage the community.

It meant investing most of what I had left, but I believed in the vision and committed everything I could to making it work.

From Passion to Purpose

What started as a personal passion quickly became something much bigger. I began attending tournaments to document players, capture memorable moments, and showcase the growing darts community throughout Baguio City, Benguet, and the Cordillera Region.

As the project grew, so did its purpose.

Today, The Dart Project is more than a media platform. It has become a community driven initiative dedicated to promoting darts through tournament coverage, educational content, product recommendations, free applications, community projects, and youth development.

Investing in the Next Generation

One of our proudest initiatives is the Cordillera Youth Dart Program (CYDP), a grassroots program created to introduce children and teenagers to the sport in a safe, welcoming, and family friendly environment.

Through regular tournaments and organized activities, CYDP encourages discipline, respect, integrity, sportsmanship, confidence, and personal growth while giving young players opportunities to learn, compete, and enjoy the game.

Building Tools for Players

Alongside our events and media, we're also developing free learning applications designed to help players improve their skills, practice more effectively, understand dart checkouts, and enjoy the game in new ways.

Originally inspired by youth development, these tools have grown into resources for beginners, casual players, and experienced players alike. While fully functional, they remain under active development as we continue improving them through experience and community feedback.

This website brings together everything we've built into one place.

From trusted dart shops and recommended products to partner brands, educational resources, free apps, tournament coverage, and community initiatives, our goal is to make darts more accessible while helping players discover valuable resources.

Many of the tournaments and events we feature also support charitable causes and local communities. Every view, share, subscription, partnership, and donation helps us continue creating content, free resources, youth programs, and opportunities for players throughout the Philippines.

Although this project continues to grow, it is not yet financially sustainable. Your support helps cover equipment, travel, internet, and the ongoing development of our content and free learning tools.
